On August 3, 2002, Heaven welcomed the arrival of one of God's loveliest servants. "Miss Bess", or "the Bible story lady", as tens of thousands of children knew her, served with CBM Ministries for over 50 years! Miss Bess spent 25 summers at Ponderosa! Her ministry to the children of Alabama has enriched the lives of 3 generations. She imparted spiritual wisdom and knowledge to these tender souls in such a way that she left life-long impressions on each child who entered the gates at Ponderosa! And, only God can truly know the fruits of her labor in the Mailbox Club lessons that she so faithfully graded for thousands of children over the 50 years of her ministry!

Jeremiah Nelson, January 11, 2009
Jeremiah, the 12th child of Jeff and Ann Nelson who came silently into their family on January 11, 2009. Ann was 14 weeks pregnant with Jeremiah. Jeff and Ann having been serving at Ponderosa since May of 1998. Jeff previously served for many years as a teenager and while in college. In honor of Jeff and Ann's service to this ministry a memorial scholarship has been set up in honor of baby Jeremiah.
Psalm 139:13-16 - God pre-ordained Jeremiah's life to be 14 short weeks. We pray that this picture of Ann and Jeremiah will testify that life begins at conception and that every life is designed by God and part of His plan.
