About Faith & Leo

Faith and Leo Martinez joined our missionary staff team with hearts fully committed to serving Christ through the ministry of Ponderosa Bible Camp.

Faith, the 26-year-old daughter of Jeff and Ann Nelson, was born and raised at Ponderosa, surrounded by a community devoted to faith and service. After high school, she worked six years as a medical assistant in both family medicine and dermatology—but her heart never strayed far from ministry. Even while working full-time, Faith spent countless evenings back at camp, leading worship or serving wherever she was needed.

Leo was born and raised in Honduras and has spent his life traveling between Honduras and the United States, where several of his grandparents, aunts, and uncles live. His faith was shaped by both cultures, and his passion for ministry grew through years of serving alongside mission teams and local churches.

Faith and Leo met on a mission trip to Honduras two years ago and have been faithfully serving together ever since. In August 2025, they were married and joined the Ponderosa staff as a couple. Leo’s bilingual abilities and cross-cultural background are an incredible asset to our ministry, especially when working with Spanish-speaking guest groups.

Together, Faith and Leo serve in multiple areas of camp life—including guest group coordination, Released Time classes, and summer camp operations. Faith also manages the camp office and oversees the Gift Shop and Snack Shop. Their combined energy, humility, and love for people reflect their desire to see lives transformed through Christ-centered ministry.

As newly married missionaries, the Martinezes are trusting God to provide the additional support needed to serve full-time. If you would like to partner with them through prayer or monthly giving, your support will help strengthen their ministry and expand the reach of Ponderosa Bible Camp.
