Staff Training Week is the official kickoff to our summer ministry at Ponderosa Bible Camp. All summer staff — including GUIDEs (counselors), SALT and TEAM members, lifeguards, and support staff — come together for a powerful week of hands-on preparation, spiritual growth, and team bonding.

🗓️ When Is It?

Staff Training Week begins the Sunday before Memorial Day and runs through Friday of that same week.

• Check-in begins at 3:30 PM on Sunday

• Training concludes at 1:30 PM on Friday

• Parent pick-up is no later than 2:00 PM on Friday

🛠️ What to Expect:

• Practical Training Sessions
  Learn how to lead cabins, manage camper behavior, respond to emergencies, and create a safe, fun, and Christ-centered experience.

• Lifeguard Certification
  Lifeguards will complete all national certification requirements, including written exams and physical swim tests.

• Spiritual Preparation
  Daily devotions, worship, and prayer help prepare your heart for ministry and foster a deeper walk with Christ.

• Team Building & Orientation
  Connect with other staff through games, skits, meals, and shared experiences while getting familiar with camp procedures, layout, and culture.

• 📸 Staff Photo Reminder
  Don’t forget to bring khaki shorts to wear with your new (provided) staff shirt for our annual Summer Staff Photo Shoot!
